Happy Thanksgiving! Here is a special treat for your long holiday weekend: a new episode!
This week on Books and Tea Podcast, Kyrie and Cori explore some of their favourite authors again, in order to check off another one of Modern Mrs. Darcy’s 2018 Reading Challenge.
But first, tea! As you know, Plum Deluxe is a fan of ours and we’re a fan of theirs, so today we’re drinking one of their teas: Passion Blend Oolang. Kyrie reads the description in her best sultry voice. Did you know you can get a discount when you buy tea from Plum Deluxe and you use our code? Well, you should give them a try if you haven’t and use BOOKSANDTEA to get a discount!
Ok, now back to books! Cori’s pick is Peachtree Road by Anne River Siddons, which she has read multiple times and takes her back to the South. With a slow start, Cori was a little worried she wasn’t going to like this book anymore, but after the first 50-100 pages, Cori got into the book’s description, story, and getting transported back in time.
Kyrie’s book, In the Woods by Tana French is not the book she actually intended to share (she wanted to read “The Likeness”), and didn’t really remember much of the book. Cori found it a bit anticlimactic and incomplete. What’s interesting about Tana, is that she only writes in the perspective of men, so all of her books are a male protagonist.
Well, that’s all we have for you this week. We’ll be slowing down a little bit as Kyrie tries to get through her days at work and Cori wraps up the semester grading copious amounts of papers. We’ll try to record here and there, but we’ll be going much slower. Thanks for listening and we’ll talk to you soon.
